KATHMANDU, Oct 22:
A consortium of 10 commercial banks led by Machhapuchchhre Bank Ltd is
financing Khare Khola Hydropower Project (KKHP).
The project with installed capacity of 24.1 MW is promoted by Consortium
Power Developers (CPD). The company consists of well know figures in Nepal. CPD
comprises the chairman of Fulbright consultancy/Excelling Investment Company and Lama Construction, one of
the leading construction companies in Nepal.
CPD Chairman Lal Krishna KC and
Machhapuchchhre Bank CEO Tulasi Ram Gautam signed an agreement for loan
financing of Rs 2.94 billion amid a function held in the capital on Tuesday.
Nabil Bank and Everest Bank
Ltd are co-leading the consortium of lenders which also includes Global IME
Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, NCC Bank, Kumari Bank, Bank of Kathmandu, Siddhartha Bank
and Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd.
